You know you’ve done it. You’ve been in the store minding your own business browsing amongst the twinkies and tuna fish, only to be startled by this kid.
You can’t take it – you’ve had a very stressful day! It’s been an intense week at work, your boss is driving you up the wall to meet a deadline, and you simply want to quietly shop, buy your Preparation H, and go home!
But there’s this kid! He’s ruining what should be the perfect end-of-the-day shopping experience!
“Someone should do something,” you think as you begin fantasizing about running over to the kid, scooping him up, bending him over your knee, and giving him what his mother and father obviously weren’t good enough parents to give him - a good whipping.
You know you’ve done it … these thoughts have run through your head, and for most of us that’s all they’ve been – thoughts.
Today we meet a gentleman who breaks the mold. Simply thinking about it wasn’t good enough for him.
No, no. Today, we meet a man of action. A man who doesn’t just think about whipping other people’s children – a man who actually does it.
No longer will shopping centers be a place where fit-throwing children are given free reign. No longer will the infantile screams of the innocent go unpunished. No longer will parents be the only ones in the room screaming children will have to fear.

Busted for Slapping Stranger’s Child
Georgia Man, 61, threatened to “shut that baby up” at Walmart
SEPTEMBER 2–Meet Roger Stephens. The Georgia man, 61, was shopping Monday morning at a Walmart in Stone Mountain when he crossed paths with Sonya Matthews and her two-year-old daughter Paige. The child was crying, which apparently greatly perturbed Stephens. “If you don’t shut that baby up I will shut her up for you,” Stephens warned Matthews, according to a Gwinnett County Police Department report. Moments later, Stephens acted on his threat, slapping Paige “across the face approximately four or five times.” Though the child “started crying and screaming” after being struck, Stephens told Matthews, “See, I told you I would shut her up.” After police were summoned, Stephens told a cop that the child was crying “and he just slapped her,” according to the report. Stephens was arrested for felony cruelty to children and booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. Paige sustained “slight redness to the face,” but was otherwise unharmed.
Roger Stephens, you can expect your face to show up on late night television and on the internet for a long time.
I have to admit, as a father I read this story and thought about all the different types of choke holds I would have put this guy in had he even tried to do what he did to my child.
At the same time, I’m very interested in what type of day this fellow was having, and am curious what’s been going on in his life that would make him do something like that.
Anyway, crying children can sleep well tonight. The Babyslapper is going to the slammer.
