We say “In God We Trust,” but in times of hardships and uncertainty where do we turn? To Wall Street. To Washington. To ourselves.

It made me sick to my stomach when I heard that stores were having midnight sales on “Black Friday.” I couldn’t help but think of those poor employees who didn’t actually get to enjoy Thanksgiving because they had to work from 11pm to 7am…Then the whole Wal-Mart thing just sent me over the edge. I can’t believe it…

On a happier note: I’m so happy to hear how well all your plans are unfolding. I know God has had his hand in this the whole way and that he will make good use of you and Airiel and your kids as you start work in San Francisco. It will most definitely be tough, but I know that God will work through you.

I’m just sad I’m not going to be in Arkansas when you come by to visit. I’ll still be over here in Europe. If we’re ever in that part of the country, though, I’ll hook up with you.
